this is a very specific prompt me post.

Basics: So I want to write. I want to write badly and I want to write specific things, but my brain is fritzing out when I sit down and look at the list and try to pick something myself. And that's where this post comes into play.

Two cuts follow: One has specific stories I've been trying to write; one has general tropes/aus I want to jump off of. You throw me a thing you want to see off either; I will write 300 or more words for it. (These may be jumping in the middle to things I have half-written in my head, and may not make wonderful sense without the larger story, but I'll do my best to make them make some kind of sense.)

You can pick things other people have picked, because that will just mean I get more written of it. Feel free to ask for multiple things. Also feel free to ask for more of something I've started writing by commenting to it, and I'll aim for another 300+.

You provide: A number. You can ask for more specific things but I don't promise to fill prompts to the letter.

1. Original: One day the sun doesn't rise. Follows people's reactions and what people do in the wake of the event, completely ignores science, vaguely inspired by Stephen King.

2. Original: Everybody Here Has Seams and Scars (Academyverse): Prompt: "How do these refugees deal with a world that puts spikes under bridges and bars on benches to keep homeless people from sleeping there?"

3. Original: With Only Strangers Watching: A group of superpowered people are "saved" from the place that's been taking care of them most of their lives, and the aftermath thereof.

4. Original: No Child is Spares (Cupcakeverse): Sedoretu AU because why not.

5. Hunger Games: BDSMverse AU for Cashmere/Gloss (incest)

6. October Daye: The story that takes Luna from getting away from her parents to Shadowed Hills.

7. October Daye: BDSMverse AU, mostly focused on fae teens. (Will end up with spoilers through Winter Long, but if you're not caught up, tell me how far you've read and I'll keep it to before then)

8. White Collar: The one that follows Peter from when he is a tiny thing and talks about growing up, religion and faith, sexuality, the point where you have to make your own decisions, the person you can trust to make those decisions for you anyway when you really can't, the things that hold on after you think you don't believe them anymore, who you are in the dark, and the Great Pumpkin. All those things you don't talk about at the dinner table. Probably divergent from anything revealed after S3.

9. Welcome to Night Vale: Band AU, set in this universe, loosely following the Strex plot (in which Strex is new management and no one is happy)

10. Marvel Cinematic Universe: In which Peggy is HYDRA.

11. Marvel Cinematic Universe: Clint is bird otherkin.

12. Marvel Cinematic Universe: Sam is bird otherkin and when he found out the program might give him wings, even if it wasn't quite right, he went gimme and didn't let anyone stop him.

13. Marvel Cinematic Universe: Darcy's 'wake up Jane/cheer up Jane/you're awesome and don't let them get you down, Jane' mix. (Ficmix, will probably be written 1-2 songs at a time.)

14. Marvel Cinematic Universe: Completely self-indulgent modern 20-something non-superpowered trying to make it through the day AU. (Jane and Thor are the one in my brain, with a tiny side tangent about the Cap 2 quartet + Peggy as well.)

15. Marvel Cinematic Universe: Tony and Rhodey (and eventually Pepper and Happy) band AU, following on from this and this.

16. Marvel Cinematic Universe: The one where Jane Foster is Captain America and Steve Rogers is an astrophysicist no one believes in and eventually there are foursomes.

17. MCU/Disney: The epic verse mapping Disney mostly-princesses onto the MCU. There's many tiny sidestories involved.

18. MCU/Indexing: The one where the Avengers + some others are an Indexing field team. Snippets here.

19. MCU/October Daye: Toby and Tybalt find out the Red Room exists and is experimenting on fae children and take them down. Most of this fic is about Tybalt adopting tiny Cait Sidhe Natasha.

20. Indexing/everything: I just want every fandom as an Indexing field team so. Feel free to throw me a fandom I know for it or else I will just start writing one of the half-baked ones in my brain.

You provide: Which one you want, and a fandom/verse/character/pairing/anything. Any more prompt than that is optional but welcome.

I like the sound of 6 and 7. (Have not yet read Winter Long. Fuck if I know why not.) I really like the sound of 19.

9, 12, 13, 19. And I will write something in return if you want for....things. I don't know what but thing. Because I want thins from you and I dunno if I can bribe you but I can damn well try.
silveradept: A kodama with a trombone. The trombone is playing music, even though it is held in a rest position (Default)

The Disney Princesses as Marvel Heroes is looking good. I'd like to see how Fa Mulan and Lilo get along.

Also, White Collar with tiny Peter.

And October Daye, although I haven't read any of that at all, so maybe I should do that, shouldn't I?

>> 11. Marvel Cinematic Universe: Clint is bird otherkin. <<

How does this affect how Natasha and Phil take care of him?

How did this affect Loki when they were mindsharing?

How does Clint deal with primate expectations?

Preening. All the preening. Clint stroking the fletches on his arrows because he needs to preen something.

>> 12. Marvel Cinematic Universe: Sam is bird otherkin and when he found out the program might give him wings, even if it wasn't quite right, he went gimme and didn't let anyone stop him. <<

I love this because I know people who needed prosthetic ears, tails, etc. Falcon has functional wings, even if they're artificial. But what mental process does it take, going from not having something you need to having it? How do you make the mental map of your wings fit the new metal ones? Because he was pretty obviously flying by instinct in the movie.

>> * Soulmate AU <<

MCU -- Among my favorite pairings are Steve/Bucky, Steve/Tony, Bruce/Tony, and Phil/Clint. I am particularly interested in how the soulmate thing "works." How is a good match found -- not the mechanics of how people find each other, but the nature of what constitutes compatibility and the way the souls fit together that makes them good for each other. So much soulmate fic has people clashing in ways that don't make sense. I think it's far more likely they would fit in ways that just confuse people who aren't used to anything in their life actually working. They might have this idea of what they want their mate to be, and what they get does fit that but is still somehow totally different than what they expected.

>> * Sedoretu AUs (four-person marriages; if you ask for pairings of 2 or 3 I reserve the right to add people to make 4) <<

MCU -- I like the Avengers are a polyfamily motif, so it's hard to whittle it down, especially since there are so few female characters to choose from. Bruce/Betty/Tony/Pepper could be interesting. Or to take a very different tangent: Bruce/Betty/Hulk/Natasha. Phil/Clint/Natasha is the seed of a very effective group. Maybe add Loki? Because he touched all of them in a way, and he's genderfluid. (I tend to favor gender-balanced sedoretu because of its structure.) What interests me about this pattern of relationship is the way that people connect to each other in different ways. It might be AB and CD for sex but AC and BD for cooking and AD and BC for roller coasters. Frex, Bruce/Tony in the lab (obvious) but Betty/Pepper tearing up the economy because Betty's knowledge of predator-prey cycles maps onto the boom-bust cycles of finance.

Re: I will come back to this with actual writing later but a note:

>> I think I'm gonna have to bow out on the first Sedoretu prompt at least, because I haven't watched the Hulk movie enough to be comfortable writing Betty and, as fantastic as she herself is from my one watch-through, I probably never will (the noise quality in it does not play well with my brain). <<

That's okay.

>> I can do Phil/Clint/Natasha though, but I just wanted to let you know that. <<

Fine.

>> (But probably not with Loki, because wow, do I not think I can find a scenario where they would actually marry Loki willingly. <<

Mine would be that Loki is the equivalent of about 17 and badly abused. The parallels with Clint are overwhelming. But if you don't like Loki in that mix, it's fine ...

>> Maria Hill or Sharon Carter is my first thought, if you want gender balances? Hmm.) <<

... I could see Maria Hill working.

>> Soulmates will be fun though. :D <<

Yay!

With multiple prompts in play, the idea is that you can pick and choose your favorites.
