[Tarot/Writing] Come get a card and maybe a tale
I have just lost my job. As my grandmother and I barely keep our heads above water with my job, this is a serious problem for me. I am looking into many avenues of trying to make up for this fact. This post is one of them.
As some of you know, I do Tarot. I have worked with Tarot cards seriously for eleven years, on and off. I also write. This point will become relevant in a few paragraphs.
So here's how this is going to work:
Comment here if you would like free one-card draw. Let me know if you have a focus or just want a general reading, and I will do a pull for you, free of charge. With this card will come a two-to-three sentence sample of a story, based off this card and its meaning.
Here comes the donation aspect:
If you would like a further reading, here are the prices:
$2 for a three-card draw (past/present/future and mind/body/spirit are the defaults but if you have a question that works better with a different layout, I will work it out)
$5 for a mini-Celtic Cross spread (6 cards, basically the "cross" part of Celtic Cross")
$8 for a full Celtic Cross spread (10 cards)
$10 for a month-by-month view of the year to come (12 cards)
This reading will be emailed or PMed to you -- please tell me your preference when it is commissioned.
If you would like more of the story, including an optional extra prompt that you can leave for me, here are the prices:
$3 will get you a 500 word story
$6 will get you a 750 word story
$8 will get you a 1000 word story
This story will be emailed to you, but for a dollar extra, you can make it publicly available.
The decks I have at my disposal at the moment are as followed: (EDIT: As of 3/14, this list has changed.)
Cat's Eye Tarot
Dreaming Way Tarot
Fallen Angel Oracle Cards
Spiral Tarot
Little People Tarot
Robin-Wood Tarot
If you don't pick a deck, I will pick one that seems to fit.
All donations should be made to toomanytongues@gmail.com through Paypal. [If this looks familiar, it's because I am currently without Paypal myself and my partner is letting me borrow theirs.] Thank you.

The Ten of Cups: Your cups runneth over -- or at least has the potential to. Something good is in your life or coming your way. This is the contentment card. Take the time to pause and enjoy the good things in your life. If something's bugging you, know that it can be conquered and happiness can be found. Inner peace, lasting joy, and good times are all within your reach. Don't forget to count your blessings when they come to you. You'll have plenty of them to count on.
Your Story:
The tree is simple -- no elaborate patterns etched in its bark, nothing strange about its roots; it isn't even particularly tall, just another tree in another city park. But looks are deceiving, and those who have sat with the tree will tell you, there's more there than meets the eye.
There's something special, in its roots and its dirt and its leave; some magic rubs off on you when you sit under it.

I am wondering how the rest of my year is going to go, mostly as it relates to the health of me my family and my boyfriend's family.
I wish you good luck. I have paypal-ed you some funds which I hope will help. <3 *lots of love*

I have no preferences as to which deck you use and I have no questions I want to ask, but I would like to have the story.

63. Balam: The message of this card is quiet strength. This card councils you to not be afraid of forceful action, but to pair it with wisdom. Be determined, stand up for yourself, but know when you've pushed too far.
Your Story:
One night he brings you to a graveyard, sets camp in front of a grave so old you cannot read the names. Over the dying embers of the fire and the sound of crickets, you ask him if he's always been so sure of where to draw his lines.
He looks at you so long that you think he's reading your mind, seeing how unsure you are inside, even with his guidance, seeing how little you feel you know; and then, when you are about to speak up again just to get his eyes off of you, he begins to speak.

I'll probably commission a further reading, just need to peek at my finances! Oh, and I'm happy for you to reply in a comment, publicly.

Death: The transition card, the change card. Death signifies the end of something, but more importantly, it says that the end of one thing is always the start of something new. Perhaps you're holding too tightly to where you thought you were going to go. The Death card might be the cards' way of telling you to make your peace with the changes your life has undergone, and to focus on the new beginning ahead.
Your Story:
Death sits by the cradle, unseen by the tired parents who come in every few minutes to check on their daughter. She doesn't seem to see the parents, in turn, her wide brown eyes fixed on the figure in the rocking chair, which stays as still as if no one was sitting there at all.
"Welcome, little one," Death says with a smile, and pokes a bony finger through the bars for her to grasp.

I have a lot going on this year, and am needing motivation/kicking in the butt in some ways...but Doing Things What Matter is a bit terrifying on a visceral paralyzing way. but that could also just be the depression talking.
And perhaps I have already prejudiced the draw, sorry..I ramble a lot

I went with the Dreaming Way deck for you. Also, don't worry about saying too much. You definitely need to say more than that to prejudice the reading.
(On a side-note, from a personal perspective, may I just say that I understand and I hope you find a way to beat down the depression soon.)
Queen of Wands: The Wands are the deck of hard work and concrete results, and the Queen is a representative of the things her suit stands for. She also stands for the fruition of plans. Perhaps you need to take some things you've hoped for or dreamt of and try to bring them into existence.
As with all Court cards, the Queen of Wands may also represent a person. In this case, she is likely to be an inspiration, charismatic and creative. She may also be overwhelming, intimidating, but it's often not on purpose. It may be a representative of the person you want to be, or can become; it may represent a person already in your life, maybe one you need to find a way to get closer to, or ask advice from.
Your Story:
What burns brightest and hottest is also in danger of burning itself out, but nobody ever told her that. No one ever told her that if she isn't careful, she'll leave herself with nothing but embers and the memory of the woman she used to be.
So she burns and loves and lives and enjoys and never lets up, until slowly, little by little and then all at once, her life comes flying apart at the seams.

59. The Bodacious Bodach: Have you ever had someone try to help you and just make things worse? That's what the Bodach does. He's a meddler, he tampers with things he really shouldn't be tampering with. He means well (or at least says he does), but the end result is always worse than it would have been had he kept out of it.
Is somebody making your life difficult? This card might be saying it's time to call them out on it and tell them to stop, no matter how helpful they might be trying to be. Alternatively, maybe you're someone else's Bodach. Take a careful look at places where you might not be as helpful as you want to be, and try to be honest with yourself about whether you're a help or a hindrance.
Your Story:
It's his job to clean up your mess; at least that's what they've always said. Nobody really stops to question the fact that, if he cleans everything up, he'll put himself out of a job. Nobody desperate enough to hire him is thinking clear enough to notice the way he leaves things, precariously balanced so that a second mess only takes one wrong step.

4. He of the Fiery Sword: He is the masculine side of a yin-yang balance, the force, the action, the concrete physical. If there's something difficult in your life, something it takes a strong will to do, the Fiery Sword is here to offer you strength in undertaking that action. He is a symbol of determination. He also represents doing what is right, though you might feel like it takes everything you've got in you. If there's something you're stalling on, because it's too hard, or too drastic, or you're not sure if you're right about it, the Fiery Sword is telling you to take that chance.
Your Story:
She knows it's a good day because, at the end of it, it feels as though she's done good. Through the blood on her hands, the tears in her eyes, the tears in her armor, the dirt on her feet, the butterflies in her stomach, the scars on her back -- through it all, she smiles.
She kisses her fingers, ignoring the taste of blood, and raises it in thanks to a deity she knows is guiding her without ever having to feel its hands on her shoulders.

I used the Tarot of the Trees for you, and, just as a note, your card jumped out of the deck at me after just a couple of seconds. So something was eager to talk to you.
The Hierophant: The card of belief, of strong spiritual connection. If you feel you've been lacking in your spirituality, this card might be telling you to get back in touch with your roots. If not, it might be a sign that you're on the right path, or that something particular that you've been meaning to explore more is calling to you.
The Hierophant is also a traditionalist, and occasionally inflexible in his outlook. Are you forgetting to bend, picking the wrong battles, standing your ground where you ought to yield? Be careful. Remember that the wisest people know that they have more to learn.
Your Story:
An old man lives in the highest branches of the oldest tree, and he never comes down. That's the story, anyway, the tale that kids whisper to each other at slumber parties, the threat that mothers use on their restless children: be careful, or the tree-man will come take you away; each branch on his tree, the local lore runs, is another naughty child, stolen in the night.
She barely believed it as a child, hasn't thought of it since she was a teenager; but it's hard not to believe it when he's hanging upside-down off a sturdy branch, saying her name though she never gave it to him.

Public posting is great--if nothing else, it acts as advertising! (I've even seen times when people sponsor continuations of stories that started with someone else's prompts elsewhere, a practice I think is wonderful.)

Edit: Forgot to add that for you, I went with the Dreaming Way deck
The Empress: The mother card, though that interpretation can range from flat-out what's on the tin motherhood to being the "parent" of anything. New creation, new project, new job? Something new is either in your life or your near future, something you will care for and likely be proud of. Take good care and "mother" your "child", whatever it may be, well. Rewards may come from it, but the experience will be the biggest reward in and of itself.
Your Story:
They dance in the windy night, three women round the bonfire, moving to music in their head. The firelight catches the sweat and sheen on their bodies, turning them into something new, something mystical. The swell of her belly shines like a miracle; her callused hands hold the secret of creation in their wrinkles; her shoulders are as steady and strong as the ground beneath their feet, there for as many people to rest their burdens on.

I used the Dreaming Way deck for you. On a more personal note, my best wishes, and you'll be in my thoughts.
Six of Wands: The victory card. Success, particularly that of a team. Good tidings. Winning.
I could go on, but I think that, in combination with your query, is clear enough. This is a very good tiding.
Your Story:
"All is not lost," they had said, but she hadn't understood till this moment. Not till she rode back into town, head held high and the taste of victory sweet on her tongue.
All was never lost; she simply couldn't see the map.

I'd sort of like a single card pull as well, if it's not too much to ask for - any deck works for that and it can be public here. The cosmos has been hitting me over the head recently, but I'm a little head-blind and I'd love to have some idea what it's trying to tell me.
Thanks TONS.

Your Reading:
Eight of Cups. This is a card of moving on and leaving something behind. Whether it's literally moving from one physical place to another, a separation, moving on from something holding you back, or finding a new desire or idea to follow -- something is behind you, and something new lies ahead.
Your Story:
You ignore the beauty to do what you've promised; isn't that how the cliche goes? The woods are lovely, dark and deep, but I have promises to keep. Well, my promises have been kept, and I want to go back to the wood.
Except I can't find it anymore.
